Kirihara Akaya
I've just gotten back from closing shop, and next week will be the last before I head off for my short vacation in Italy. One week of backpacking and meeting the romantic Italians, and seeing the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, of course. I probably should start packing today now that I think about it, but I feel so restless. I guess I'll burn out all the excess energy on a game at the courts; those scamps should be around.

You know, I'm really going to miss the kids and their thundering around and their need to just have someone listen and be there - it sounds familiar, huh? - but hey, what's that rule about getting attached again? Right, don't. Though really, that's only when the bosses ask. Anyone else and I'll tell you - it actually might be nice to have my own someday. Who would have ever thought that Kirihara Akaya would say that?

Anyway, I hear a couple people are in town and all that jazz. Anyone up for a drink?

About to leave for tennis training. And when I get back, I feel like I want to eat something I wouldn't normally eat - does anyone have suggestions? Make it something easy and which I can actually cook myself.

Buchou, how's the ghost treating you? Do you want me to come over with a fire extinguisher? :D

ETA: You know how you can totally forget to feed your African Grey and it gets cranky enough to swoop down and take a few bits of dog food? Yeah. Let's just say, Kimi was not pleased. And now I feel like such a bad parent.

Hey all, how you doin'?

No, seriously. It's been forever. And I'm just glad to be home.

Kimi, Boku and I are back from Kanagawa, where the inevitable wedding happened. Guess who got to be the best man? And after all the crazy I'm pleased to say that, no, he isn't gay - and I guess he sortakindamaybe makes my Nee-san happy so yeah, whatever. Case closed. For now.

Classes are going to be crazy this year. I wasn't able to sign up with any of the good schedules but it's still like five at most. And Friday is practically free. We'll see.

Btw, Yanagi-senpai, Belated Happy Birthday! You wanna go out for drinks or something?

So, Boku's started shedding (I don't know what else to call it) - is that normal for an African Grey? For those who have birds at home, laying down some old newspaper around the perch or cage really does the job, especially when you're in a hurry to get to school the next day. Also, it's Earth friendly. That's what this book says anyway. :|

Now, that's not the best news. Apparently, Kimi's started humping.. things, which is a bit of an upgrade from his chewing on furniture. Guess he couldn't wait to grow up either. Yeah. As a pseudo parent, I'm not sure if I should be proud or what. Only advice I can give for this is to have a lint roller handy, meaning lots'a spares. Yuki-buchou, that means you. Daisuke's even more hyperactive than Kimi is; I hate to imagine what would happen if he.. started getting into the mood. (Tezuka-san would not be pleased.)

Besides the children, school's toning down on the workload. Must be all those extra units I used to take. And since I barely have more than five classes a day now, I figure I should hunt around for a part-time job. The idea is to keep busy. And with a new training schedule (Tuesday nights, Fridays-Sundays for now), I'm finally trying out for the university tennis team. Go me!

ETA: I am craving a bandwagon-type superhero movie. Like Iron Man or The Watchmen. Hmm.

God, it feels like I haven't had a tennis match in so long. Off to the courts, see y'all later. :|

{ ooc: I'm in a mood for logging. If anyone wants to do something with Akaya, send me a message at starianprincess@gmail.com? :D }

Buchou, Happy Belated Birthday~! Since I'm the awesome kouhai that I am, I'm cooking you dinner - you name the time and place. What d'you say? :D

Also, Echizen, I just have to tell you: I hate the new locks. They look horrible, tacky. Kimi wants to chew on them but can't. And they make unlocking the door a chore. Are you over your horrorphobia now?

{ Backdated to February 24th, Tuesday }

After cleaning up - I won't get into that - I went to fetch Kimi and Boku. It's funny how I've only been gone about four days and suddenly they look a lot bigger. Narita-san says they barely gave her any trouble, which is why I'm thinking of getting them rewards. Kimi probably needs a new doggie bed anyway, and Boku will appreciate a different mix of bird feed.

I'll check up on the classes I missed later today; hope there isn't too much homework.

Awesome how my only two classes tomorrow are free cuts. And the guys from Kansai Med figure it's high time we have a group outing. Mm. Someone did suggest a road trip the last time. Well, if we push through with it I'll be back by Saturday night.

Kirihara Akaya is not a dwarf or mermaid or any other fictional being. :|
Kirihara Akaya also has nothing to do with [info]u_r_damn_sheep . So there.

In other news, Kimi seems to be repenting kinda. He doesn't try to hop on to my bed like he used to and he's not as noisy either. Boku's picking up on his change in behavior and following suit. What's going on? I'm a little worried. Because this reminds me of like the calm before the storm, y'know? Things get calm and quiet and then suddenly the winds change and you're sucked in and that's the end of you. Riiiiight.

Orals were good, surprisingly. I just have to write up a report for it and I'm done for the week. Why does it not feel like it's almost Valentine's?

My children have names. The noisy one is Boku, because it's a word it should learn; and the naughty one is Kimi, because I'm really that unoriginal. (Nee-san says that if I treat them like children, they'll learn to shape up. Don't ask.)

That isn't the highlight of my morning though. Nee-san's agreed to watch Kimi till the weekend, while I replace  two pillows, a chair, and a bookshelf. Hopefully,  she'll beat some sense into the pup. I'm not worried, really. And I haven't grown attached. Definitely not.

Which is why I am happily studying for an oral tomorrow. Totally not distracted.

Private. )

[ooc: Boku (for the parrot) = a polite way of saying 'I'. Kimi (for the puppy) = a polite way of saying 'you'. And um, the 'he' Akaya's referring to is his soon-to-be brother-in-law. <3]
